Star Wars from Scratch #1: Basics of Getting Around the Piano

User Rating: / 4
PoorBest

This series of short piano lessons is based on the techniques I used to teach one of my sons how to play "Star Wars" by John Williams. Don't worry if you've never had piano lessons before, or if you've never read a note of music - I'm going to try to design these lessons to be easy to follow and fun to play! Even though this is a challenging version of the classic Sci Fi movie theme, I'm hoping that by breaking things down, everyone can discover the joys of reading music. Suggestion for a lesson from scratch
written by JP Levesque , February 23, 2010

I do not mean to insult you with my suggestion as I know you are a classically trained pianist. I am sure you have gotten this suggestion time and time again, but I must insist. Coldplay - Trouble is an absolutely magnificent piece.

I would also like to thank you for your lessons. Your tutorials of Claire de lune have inspired me to learn to play the once dust covered piano that has glared at me with neglect for so long now. Here is a link to a pianist playing a cover of Trouble on youtube (which you may or may not have seen). I hope that you will watch it and be inspired as much as I am by it.

I thank you again for all your efforts, you are making a difference in the lives of people that other wise would never know this joy.
